I'll let him know you want to talk to him. You really need to stop frightening the boy, Commander. He's surprisingly fragile, considering he's a spirit.
I'm sure you're aware that I am not the only templar- former or otherwise- on this ship.
[This is kind of the tricky part. He knows that it's a delicate subject among most templars, doubts that Evangeline would enjoy him discussing such matters with anyone, let alone a Tevinter mage. Still, he doesn't exactly think that Dorian would just hand it over if he asked for it, considering the circumstances. That doesn't leave him with a lot of options.
He settles for just the implication, trusting that Dorian is smart enough to figure out what he intends to do with it.]
If you're willing to part with it, it would be appreciated.
[He is aware of Evangeline - he's also aware that even with her there, Cullen could be asking for himself, not her. But it's not Dorian's right to police Cullen's actions. If he wants the lyrium, Dorian will give it to him. He may not approve - but it's Cullen's life. He's a big boy, he can make his own choices.]
I suppose I haven't much use for it right now anyway.
I don't have any of those things, but I have found a chess set in one of the recreational facilities if that strikes your fancy. At least, what these people pass off as chess? It isn't quite like it is at home and I wasn't sure if it's actually something in your interests but I thought to ask you before the others. That is, you seemed more likely to enjoy... well. Playing.
That sounds delightful. I could use more pleasant things to do, besides walking in the gardens and drinking. And I do play, though I suppose we may have to make up rules if the pieces are different. Or perhaps we can alter the board.
I thought you were working with the science department?
I'll leave the decision to alter or not up to you. It seems simple enough as it is, though maybe a little too straightforward. I'll have to have someone who's accustomed to it explain the rules more clearly to me.
the world I am from is one of science, although there are those who would say that certain qualities we possess might seem magical but we most assuredly do not possess angels or at least angels who are very forthcoming about their existence
here on this ship is a different story
a rather nice man named Castiel is an angel of his own world being cut off from his world/"Heaven" seems to be having a detrimental, magical impact on his mortality and he came to Xenogen looking for help
I know nothing of angels, but I imagine it might be similar to a spirit being cut off from the Fade. I'd need to learn more about him to be certain. What sort of detrimental effects is it having?
that sounds not dissimilar I started a case file to which I've granted you access thus far I know his Grace depletion manifests as physical fatigue and compromises his access to his own supernatural powers
Perhaps we can fabricate something that will provide the power he needs, so long as this 'Grace' isn't the only thing that would give him strength. Have you already tried other sources?
I've contacted Emma Swan, a woman who has magical properties in that she can generate magical energy and channel it into good use she will likely agree to help, if you would be interested in perhaps overseeing it
we should look into alternatives in case it does not work or has only short term effectualness
I would be happy to oversee. I'll have to find out what information I can - even if it does work, it's unlikely to be sustainable for more than one person. If it happens again, we'll need other options.
As a member of the Xenobiology and Genetics department, your peers are as follows:
Professor Charles Xavier (CXO » 026 » 100) Dorian Pavus (SCI » 039 » 074) Doctor Jemma Simmons (SCI » 042 » 060) Doctor Milagros Gallo (SCI » 034 » 097) Felix Gaeta (SCI » 043 » 113) Doctor Brigid Tenenbaum (--- » 044 » 052)
* Dr Tenenbaum is our latest recruit. Please ensure she feels welcome and knowledgeable.
* I have indicated to Mystique, who is conducting the Non/Inter-Department Volunteer Programme, that Xenogen will be happy to take temps, but that we will not need them on an ongoing bases. Essentially, if you require a volunteer or assistant and do not have any on hand, please consult with this list for those that indicated interest.
* Last cycle, the population of the ship experienced near debilitating headaches and bleeds from the nose/eyes/ears that seemed only treatable via physical contact. Manifestations occurred too in the form of empathetic shares and hallucinations. I won't rehash everything that has been said, but I will link the relevant network posts about the topic below, as I haven't had an opportunity to collate a proper case file just yet, as study is ongoing, but I have made a start.
The pain/injury aspects have worn off since the jump, but the empathetic/hallucinations aspect remains. As I have said previously and would like to emphasise now: I believe these aspects are within our personal control, and I also believe is is prudent that we develop control. This may feel counter-intuitive to those that do not have personal experience with having supernatural or superhuman abilities, and I'd like to offer my own assistance if you would like help in training your control. I have some experience in this area. Conversely, if you do too, I would appreciate your insight and assistance.
In turn, I believe that through the empathetic aspect if nothing else, people who train up in learning control will then be able to teach others as effectively or even more so than I. If you feel confident in this, eventually, please consider paying it forward by helping others.
Previous network posts on this topic for reference:
* A few cycles back, we as a department underwent space-flight training, but practically all of you have rotated in since then. I am going to schedule in some time for us to undergo these sessions. This is more than just learning to fly a shuttle, but concerns basic survival in space, and we are, indeed, in space. I would really appreciate we all do this.
* Administrative nonsense: with exception to our latest recruit, everyone has updated their profiles, which is brilliant. Please also remember to add any cases you're working on on our database. If you don't, I shan't share any of my baking.

I haven't seen Cole since the last jump.
Do you know where he is?
Text
I've seen him here and there. Perhaps he's avoiding you? I'd try the gardens, or perhaps the kitchens. Or I can speak to him for you.
Text
[It's not his fault! Don't act like it's his fault.]
I would like to make sure he's alright. [Read: Not a demon.] I'll check those areas, but I doubt I'll find him if he doesn't want to be found.

There's something else. Awhile ago, you said that you had a small amount of lyrium. Is that still the case?
Text
[And even with the help of lyrium, he couldn't enter the Fade. A failed experiment, but at least he learned from it.]

How have you been holding up? With the Inquisitor and Solas here now... things are going to be different.
Text
I'm doing well enough, Commander. I ought to be the one asking you that.
Text
Should you? I'm as well as can be expected. If that should change, someone would probably inform you.
No further issues with Fenris, I hope?
Text
And no, not yet. In fact, no one's tried to kill me in weeks. If I had peeled grapes, good wine, and a scented bath, I'd be in paradise.

And that sounds like it might do the trick, at least sometimes.
